Wecome to Copenhagen Baroque Festival 2022!
This year the festival will take place from June 22nd to 26th.
The historical sites, Trinitatis Church and Round Tower will again this year be collaboration partners and we are very grateful being able to present our concerts in such beautiful settings!
Thank you to all foundations, partners and volunteers helping us throughout the festival – without the financial support, the venues and all the help behind the stage we would have no festival!
Welcome & the lute’s family history
Wednesday, June 22 at 16.30 – Trinitatis Church Parish House
Welcome to this year’s festival! Enjoy cake and a complimentary glass of champagne, in the company of lutenist Dohyo Sol.

Opening Concert
Wednesday, June 22 at 19.00 – Trinity Church
Breathtaking orchestral music by C. P. E. Bach, J. G. Graun and J. G. Pisendel. Experience recorder player Bolette Roed in collaboration with young virtuoso, Katarzyna Olszewska. The latter, the daughter of Arte dei Suonatori’s founders, one of Europe’s leading ensembles in historical baroque instruments. What a pedigree indeed!
Bachfest
Thursday, June 23 at 19.00 – Trinity Church
The festival is delighted to finally feature Denmark’s own fantastic baroque orchestra, Concerto Copenhagen and 4 sublime vocal soloists. The group will perform 4 of Bach’s timeless cantatas.
Surprises from the church organ
Friday, June 24 at 16.30 – Trinity Church
The trio Alpha has been a staple of Danish music life since 2005, when recorder player Bolette Roed was recognized as a DR “artist of the year” and the ensemble played throughout Denmark. For the last 20 years (nearly), audiences have enjoyed the trio with saxophone, recorder and percussion. Today, Peter Navarro-Alonso, the organist in Our Savior’s Church in Christianshavn, has replaced Alpha’s saxophone with the organ. Surprises from the church organ will bring Trinitatis’ multiple organs into play and interaction with percussion and recorder in new works and arrangements that are certain to captivate and surprise!
Back to nature
Friday, June 24 at 19.00 – Trinity Church
The Copenhagen Baroque Festival receives a visit from the Swedish baroque orchestra “Höör Barock” and their politically invested musical program “Back to nature”. Let the focus squarely fall on climate change and remind us listeners of the importance of maintaining a climate where the seasons exist as we know them. The orchestra further presents excerpts from their Grammy-winning CD “Golovin-musiken” presenting music from Swedish baroque composer Johan Helmich Roman.
Memorial concert for the victims of the war in Ukraine
Saturday, June 25 at 16.00 – Trinity Church
With the performance of Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Bieber’s beautiful requiem in F minor, the festival wishes to create a space for reflection and remembrance in honor of the victims of the war in Ukraine. A small and modest moment for all who have lost and for all who continue to fight. Here’s to our belief in the power of beautiful music to soothe and bring hope.
Bach in new clothes
Saturday, June 25 at 20.00 – The Round Tower
Four virtuoso soloists coming together in their shared love for the master, Johann Sebastian Bach.
This is a rare opportunity to experience selected pieces from Bach’s Inventions & Sinfonias, Kunst der Fuge, and eclectic arrangements of the Goldberg Variations, opening new sonic worlds to the listener. The Round Tower’s beautiful library hall is a natural environment for this intimate concert in which Bach’s canonical baroque melodies emanate from the novel instruments combinations.

Sunday, June 26 at 10.30 – Trinity Church
Cantata service with J. S. Bach Solo Cantata ”Gott Soll Allein Mein Hertze Haben” (BWV 169)
