Dear Friends,

On Wednesday, the Copenhagen Baroque Festival begins – and you are invited!

It is with great excitement that we launch another edition of the festival. A varied program awaits, intimate solo concerts and grand orchestral works. This year, we extend an invitation to let your imagination run free as we dive into the depths of music under the theme ‘Musical Stories’. Over five magical days, we will explore how music can bring stories to life – tales from the past, myths, or entirely new stories that emerge in our minds as the notes fill Copenhagen’s historic halls.

Copenhagen’s timeless venues

This festival is a celebration of baroque music in Copenhagen’s most impressive architectural gems. One must picture oneself sitting in the Knight’s Hall at Rosenborg Castle, surrounded by Renaissance tapestries, or listening to the echoes of music under the magnificent spire of the Church of Our Saviour. The music comes alive in these unique settings, where past and present merge, and every concert becomes a journey into a world between reality and fantasy.

Our world-class roster of musicians

We are proud to present an exceptional program featuring both returning audience favorites and new talents. Such a pleasure to experience Marc Mauillon, Alon Sariel, Clara Cecilie Thomsen and Kyungil Ko, Ellen Hillingsø, Anna Krzyzak, Poul and Silene Høxbro, Joachim Beccera Thomsen, the festival’s Talent Academy with Nanna Treu, Julius Vilfred Hartung, and Anna Johannsen, Carsten Dahl, Aline Zylberajch, Marcin Świątkiewicz, as well as Fredensborg Palace Church Girls’ Choir and, of course, the festival’s house orchestra, Arte dei Suonatori.

Joachim Beccera Thomsen

On Friday evening, we will let the starlight descend in the library hall of the Round Tower. We have kept the content of this concert a bit secret, but now we can reveal the special moment awaiting you: enjoy a solo concert with Joachim Beccera Thomsen, the principal flutist of the Royal Danish Orchestra – accompanied by readings by Ellen Hillingsø.

We look forward to welcoming you to a festival that not only celebrates baroque music but also the many stories that music can tell. Allow yourself to be inspired, enchanted, and moved by the music and stories in these fantastic surroundings.
